On September 21, 2026 I released Redobândire Permis Auto, the 26th app on my App Store account and the third one built for Romanian drivers, after Categoria B (learner's exam prep, late 2024) and Rutiera: Legi & Amenzi (traffic law reference, 2026). It solves one problem: passing the test you have to sit to get a suspended licence back.
The test is narrow, so the app is narrow
When a licence is suspended in Romania, getting it back means passing a knowledge test at the traffic police: 15 questions, 20 minutes, at least 13 correct. Those exact conditions are the product. The simulation uses 15 questions and a visible 20-minute countdown, passes at 13, and at the end shows every question you missed with an explanation and a direct link to the category you still need to practise. No "lite" simulations, no invented formats.

A guide, not just a quiz
A driver with a suspended licence already knows how to drive. What they don't know is the procedure: where to book, what to bring, what happens in the special cases, and whether they qualify for the shortened suspension. That's why the guide is a first-class part of the app rather than an appendix to the quiz. The question engine is the part people expect; the guide is the part that actually reduces the anxiety.
A date on every article
Legal text changes, and a reference app that quietly goes stale is worse than no app. Each article carries the date it was last checked against the source, the same discipline I applied when building the Civio citizenship apps from official question catalogues. For an exam app, trust in the content is the feature; the UI just delivers it.
Three apps, one audience
Categoria B, Rutiera and Redobândire Permis serve the same kind of user at different moments: before the first licence, while driving, and after losing it. They stay separate products for the same reason the rest of my portfolio does: each one wins its own App Store search and explains one job in its onboarding. What they share is the engineering underneath, built on the same SwiftUI kit as everything else I ship.
Narrow problem, exact conditions, honest content. That is the whole product brief, and it is the brief I would recommend for most first versions.
